Content and Community Standards
CHEF hosts user-generated content and has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Every post and comment can be reported from its options menu, and every chef can be blocked, which hides their content and stops their direct messages. Reported content is reviewed within 24 hours; violating content is removed and repeat offenders have their accounts terminated. By posting, you agree not to upload content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights.
Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Chef, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.
1. License to Use
Chef grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the mobile application on your personal devices strictly in accordance with these terms.
2. Purchases, Subscriptions, and Refund Policy
CHEFpro Terms: CHEFpro is an auto-renewing subscription priced at $2.99 per month (or the local equivalent), beginning with a 7-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's account settings. Billing: Certain features or content within Chef may require a one-time purchase or recurring subscription fee (e.g., "Chef Pro"). All purchases are processed securely through third-party app stores (such as Apple App Store or Google Play Store). No Direct Refunds: Because Chef is digital software delivered instantly, we do not offer direct refunds, exchanges, or credits for any fees or charges paid through our app, except where required by applicable law or the official refund policies of the respective app store platform. If you wish to request a refund, you must submit your request directly to Apple or Google through your device's app store account settings. You may cancel a subscription at any time through your app store account settings, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.

3. Intellectual Property
All design elements, text, graphics, logos, app icons, and source code associated with CHEF are the exclusive property of Lonestar Code Foundry LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
4. Liability, Disclaimer of Warranties, and Indemnification
A. "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" Disclaimer: The App and all content, recipes, timers, voice-recognition features, filters, and materials provided through Chef are delivered on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permissible under applicable law, Chef, its creators, officers, employees, and agents disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
B. Comprehensive Recipe, Cooking, and Physical Injury Disclaimer
Cooking, baking, and the preparation of food involve inherent physical risks, including but not limited to cuts, burns, scalds, fire, property damage, foodborne illness, and severe allergic reactions. No Professional Advice: Chef is a software utility and entertainment platform only. Neither Chef nor its operators are professional chefs, certified nutritionists, food safety inspectors, or medical professionals. User Assumption of Risk: You explicitly acknowledge and agree that you assume 100% of the risk associated with cooking, preparing, consuming, or handling any food, ingredients, or equipment featured in any recipe within the App. Release of Liability: Chef, its developers, and affiliates shall bear zero liability for any personal injury, illness, medical emergencies, death, or property damage resulting from your use of the App, its cooking instructions, timers, or voice features.
C. Preferences, Allergen, and Health Filter Disclaimer
Chef provides digital organization and filtering tools (including, but not limited to, "Keto," "Gluten-Free," "Sugar-Free," and metric/imperial or Celsius/Fahrenheit temperature conversions) to assist users in recipe discovery. No Guarantee of Accuracy: We do not guarantee, warrant, or certify that any recipe, ingredient breakdown, nutritional value, or temperature conversion is completely accurate, error-free, or compliant with specific medical or lifestyle preferences (such as diabetes, severe food allergies, celiac disease, or religious lifestyle preferences). Mandatory Independent Verification: Users with medical conditions, severe food allergies, or strict lifestyle preferences must independently verify all ingredient labels, nutritional profiles, and cooking temperatures before preparing or consuming food. Chef shall not be liable for any health complications, adverse allergic reactions, or medical events arising from reliance on the App's filters, tags, search queries, or unit conversions.
D. Voice Command and Technological Failure Disclaimer
Chef includes hands-free voice-control features designed to navigate recipe steps and manage timers. Because voice-recognition APIs, browser web-views, and mobile hardware can experience latency, network interruptions, background noise interference, misinterpretations, or dropouts: You agree that Chef is not responsible for any kitchen mishaps, burnt food, or safety hazards caused by a delayed, misunderstood, or dropped voice command (e.g., a "next step" or "reset timer" command that fails to register). You are solely responsible for manually verifying your cooking progress and monitoring your physical kitchen appliances at all times.
E. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Chef, its developers, partners, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages—including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses—arising out of or relating to your access to or use of, or your inability to access or use, the App or any content therein, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other legal theory, even if Chef has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
F. User Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Chef, its creator(s), and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from: Your use of and access to the App; Your violation of any term of these Terms of Service; Your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right; or Any claim that your preparation or consumption of food using the App caused damage to a third party.
